The Belrose Journals

In the summer of 1924 a botanist named Henry Belrose went into the Amazon to find a missing man, and wrote down everything he saw. Rat beans. A great owl. A stone city on an impossibly blue river.

On the last night his lamp burns in a cave, and the world he wakes up in is not the one he walked into.

Henry is a main character in Fall of the Ten Clans, and the journal stops on the day that novel starts. Read it after book one and before book two — or read it first, and meet him the long way round.

Subterrania: the first three chapters

Quin is sixteen and lives a mile underground. Three chapters: the colony, the tunnels she was told to stay out of, and the first hint that everything her people believe about the enemy is a lie.

Older readers — this one goes darker than Echo Island. No connection to the other series. Start here and you have started a trilogy.

Just tell me when the next one is out.

Fair enough. One email when a book is finished — cover, date, and the link, before it goes anywhere else. Nothing else unless something worth showing you turns up in a swamp.
